Sergeant Clarence Hutchesson

Sergeant Clarence Leonard Hutchesson, Royal Australian Air Force. He was killed in a flying accident on 13th November 1942 aged 29. He was the son of Andrew and Adeline Hutchesson and the husband of Winifred Marjory Hutchesson of Horsham, Victoria, Australia. ( His name is not on the Fogo War Memorial ).His Bristol Beaufighter was involved in a mid-air collision with another Beaufighter and crashed at Kettleshall Farm near Polwarth , Berwickshire. Both he and his navigator Sergeant Richard Bell were killed. The other Beaufighter made it back to Winfield Aerodrome. His Headstone is inscribed “Our Darling”.
