Lance Corporal Robert Thompson M.M.

Lance Corporal Robert Thompson, M.M., 5th/6th (Service ) Battalion, Cameronians( Scottish Rifles ) He was killed in action in France on 3rd October 1918 during the “Advance to Victory” and is commemorated on the Vis-En-Artois Memorial, France. He had been born in Jedburgh, lived in Eyemouth and had enlisted in Alloa. The photographs show Allied troops in the advance against the retreating German army during the final 100 days of the War.
