Seaman Peter Collin

Seaman Peter Collin, Royal Naval Reserve. He died in an accident on Active Service on 5th June 1918, aged 24. He had been born in Eyemouth and was the son of Richard and Agnes Collin of 2 Marine Parade, Eyemouth and is buried in Eyemouth New Cemetery.  The C.W.G.C. site has his rank as Deckhand). He had enlisted for Home Defence duties in 1914 and had joined the navy in November 1916 serving aboard the hired motor drifter ” Isabel Colven at Grimsby where it was used as a boom defence vessel. He was found drowned in the Royal Dock, Grimsby.
