Skipper James Jamieson

Commanding Skipper James Jamieson, Royal Naval Reserve. He died in hospital on 25th September 1943 aged 58. He had been born in Berwick-upon-Tweed and the son of the late James and Isabella Jamieson of Eyemouth and was the husband of Henrietta Jamieson of  11 Seafield, Eyemouth and is buried in Eyemouth Kirkyard.  He had enlisted as Skipper in September 1940 and commanded the trawler ” Northern Light” operating as a minesweeper out of Aberdeen. In July 1943 he was diagnosed with heart disease and later discharged as medically unfit. He died in the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary three weeks after his discharge.
