Private Henry Hunter

Private Henry Wilson Hunter, 1st/4th ( Border ) Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He died on 15th December 1917 of wounds received in action in Palestine and is commemorated on the Jerusalem Memorial. ( He is also commemorated on the Duns Memorial ). He had been born in Reston and was the son of William and the late Margaret Hunter of Crumstane, Edrom and Kimmergham Mains, Edrom. Already his twin brother David had been killed in action at Gallipoli during the ” Charge ” on 12th July 1915. Another brother John with the Highland Light Infantry had been posted missing in France in November 1917.
