Private Henry Hunter

Private Henry Wilson Hunter, 1st/4th ( Border ) Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He died on 15th December 1917 of wounds received in action in Palestine and is commemorated on the Jerusalem Memorial. ( He is also commemorated on the Duns Memorial ). He was a native of Kimmerghame, Berwickshire and had enlisted in Duns. Already his twin brother David had been killed in action at Gallipoli during the ” Charge ” on 12th July 1915. Another brother John with the Highland Light Infantry had been posted missing in France in November 1917.
