Private William Ballantyne Hall, 11th ( Service ) Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. He was killed in France on 20th October 1915 aged 22. He was the son of Robert and the late Betsy Hall of Browndeanslaw, Oxnam, Roxburghshire and is commemorated on the Loos Memorial, Dud Corner, Loos, France. He hads been employed as a ploughman before enlisting in November 1914. He went with his Battalion to France in early October 1915 and was killed only three weeks later.
