Private William Somerville, 8th Battalion ( Manitoba Regiment ) Canadian Expeditionary Forces. He was killed in action on 29th September 1918, aged 31 during the ” Advance to Victory”. He was the son of William and Rachel Somerville of Greenlaw and was the husband of Elsie Somerville of Molson, Manitoba. He is buried in Sancourt British Cemetery, France where his Headstone is inscribed ” Blessed are The Pure In Heart for They Shall See God”. the photos show Allied troops advancing during the final 100 days of the War.
