Private James Kerr

Private James William Grieve Kerr, 1st/4th ( Border ) Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He died of dysentery in hospital in Alexandria on 19th October 1915, aged 29, after service on Gallipoli. He was the son of James and Rachel Kerr of Green View, Earlston and is buried in Alexandra ( Chatby ) Military Cemetery, Egypt. Before the war he had been employed at the Rhymers Mill and had volunteered for foreign service along with the rest of the Battalion.
