Private Charles Waite

Private Charles Walter Waite, 12th ( Service ) Battalion, Royal Scots. He died from wounds in France, aged 29, on the 12th March 1916. He had been born in Duns and was the son of Alexander and the late Elizabeth Waite. He had emigrated to Canada and was working there as a carter in Ontario but had returned to Scotland and was living in Dunbar when he enlisted in April 1915. He died in the 8th Casualty Clearing Station in Bailleul and was buried in Bailleul Communal Cemetery, Extension, Nord, France.
