Sergeant James McIntosh

Sergeant James Kerr Murdoch McIntosh, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. He was lost on Air Operations on 3rd April 1945 aged 19. He had been born in Coldingham to James and Elizabeth McIntosh of St. Boswells and is buried in Leopoldsburgh War Cemetery, Belgium. He flew with 625 Squadron from R.A.F. Kelstern, Lincolnshire as part of No. 1 Group, Bomber Command. He was lost on a raid to Nordhausen, Germany when his plane crashed near Visbedden, Limburg, Belgium with no survivors. His Headstone is inscribed ” Remembrance In Proud Memory Of Our Dear Son And Brother Jim “. The Squadron operated the Avro Lancaster.
