Fusilier John Kerr

Fusilier John Kerr, 9th Battalion, Royal Northumberland Fusiliers. He died on 14th November 1943 as a Prisoner of War of the Japanese, aged 29. He had been taken prisoner at the fall of Singapore on 15th February 1942. He was the son of William and Florence Kerr and the husband of Joan Douglas Kerr of Bridlington, Yorkshire. He is buried in Sai Wan War Cemetery, Hong Kong where his Headstone is inscribed ” At the Going Down Of the Sun And In the Morning We Will Remember Him”.
