Private William Blackie, 7th ( Service ) Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He died from wounds in France on 12th September 1915 aged 21. He had been born in Coldstream and was the son of Alexander Blackie of East Morriston, Earlston. He is buried in Noeux-Les-Mines Communal Cemetery (near Bethune), Pas de Calais, France. He is commemorated on the Hume War Memorial but not on the Coldstream Memorial. However as he had been born in Coldstream we feel he should be also commemorated here.
