Private John Taylor

Private John Kinnell Taylor,  2nd Battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers. He died from influenza on Service in Germany at Parchim on 2nd January 1919 aged 29. He was the son of Isabella and the late George Taylor of Coldstream Mains farm and is buried in Hamburg Cemetery. His brother George was killed in action in France on 15th September 1916. He was a Regular soldier and when War broke out he was with his Battalion at Gibraltar. They landed on the Continent in October 1914 but he became a Prisoner of War near Ypres shortly afterwards during the fighting near Gheluvelt.  (There was a Prisoner of War camp at Parchim which is a town in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany).
