Flying Officer William Robb Lunan, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. He died on 10th September 1944, aged 22. He was the son of James and Mary Lunan of Tweedmouth and is buried in Kirriemuir Cemetery, Angus. He was a member of 239 Squadron R.A.F. which at that time flew the wonderful De Havilland Mosquito from West Raynham in East Anglia. Their task was to support Bomber Command operations by intercepting and destroying enemy night fighters.
