Private Tom Renwick, 1st/6th ( Territorial ) Battalion, Manchester Regiment. He was killed in action at Gallipoli on 4th June 1915 and is commemorated on the Helles Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey. He fell during the third Battle of Krithia where his Battalion, part of the 127th Manchester Brigade ( 42nd East Lancashire Division ) was the only formation to take its objectives albeit with heavy casualties. The photo shows the 6th Manchesters in their attack at the Vineyard.
