Acting Bombardier Robert McDougall

Acting Bombardier Robert McDougall, 54th Battery, 39th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery. He was killed in action in France on 10th September 1915, aged 27. He had been born in Berwick and was the son of the late Thomas and Mary McDougall. He is buried in Bully-Grenay Communal Cemetery, French Extension, Pas de Calais, France. His Headstone is inscribed ” The Lord Said Unto Him Well Done Good And Faithful Servant”. The R.F.A. used the 18 pounder field gun in an anti infantry role using both high explosive and shrapnel shells.
