Driver James Younger, 23rd Battery, 40th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery. He wasc killed in France on 6th May 1917, aged 29, during the Battle of Arras. He was the swon of John and Margaret Younger of Kiln Hill, Tweedmouth and is buried in Fauberg D'Amiens Cemetery, Arras, France. His brother John had been killed less than a month previously ( see above ). Before enlisting he had worked for the North East Railway in the goods warehouse at Tweedmouth before becoming a shunter at Gateshead.
