Private George Young

Private George Young, 3rd Battalion, Coldstream Guards. He died in Belgium on 30th August 1917, aged 23 of wounds received in action during the Battle of Third Ypres. He was the husband of Rose Young of 8 Foundry Cottages, West End, Tweedmouth and is buried in Blueut Farm Cemetery, Flanders, Belgium. He had already suffered a bayonet wound to the leg during the Somme battle. His Headstone is inscribed ” To Memory Ever Dear “. The photographs show troops during the early stages of the Battle.
