Private C. Erswell

Private C.Erswell, 24th ( 1st Tyneside Irish ), Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers. He died of wounds in France on 9th April 1917 and is buried in Bailleul Road East Cemetery, St Laurent Blangy, Arras, France. He was mortally wounded during the Battle of Arras which began on 9th April and saw his Battalion quickly capture their first Objective , the German ” Black Line ” on time.They the went on to take their part of the enemy ” Blue Line “
