Captain Alfred Brock

Captain Alfred Lawrence Brock, 6th ( Territorial ) Battalion, Durham Light Infantry. He was killed in action in France on 14th April 1917, aged 27, during the Battle of Arras. He was the son of the late Captain A.H. Brock ( Royal Engineers ) and is buried in Wancourt British Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. He fell in the capture of Wancourt and the heavy fighting which followed. The photographs show British troops accompanied by a tank in the main street of a captured village near Arras.
