Private Thomas Heckels

Private Thomas Wilkinson Heckels,  12th ( Service ) Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers. He had been born in Coldstream and was the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Heckels of Duke Street, Coldstream.  In 1911 Thomas was a lodger with Mrs Maughan in Berwick. His brother Archie had served with the Kings Own Scottish Borderers and was reported in June 1915 to be a Prisoner of War. Thomas was discharged from the Army through ill health in 1917 and died in 1920.
