Private Robert Wilson

Private Robert Wilson ( possibly ) 25th Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers ( 2nd Tyneside Irish ). He died in France on 28th April 1917, aged 21, of wounds received in action during the Battle of Arras. He was the son of James and Mary Wilson of Rock, Alnwick and was a native of Golden Hill, Belford. He is buried in Etaples Military Cemetery, France. His Headstone is inscribed ” Greater Love Hath No Man Than This That He Lay Down His Life For His Friends “.
