Corporal Thomas Weatherston, 1st Battalion, Royal Scots. He died in France on 27th May 1940 aged 24 during the evacuation of the British Expeditionary Force from Dunkirk. He was the son of Robert and Mary Weatherston of Ayton and is commemorated on the Dunkirk Memorial, France.
