Private Robert Smith, 25th Battalion ( 2nd Tyneside Irish ), Northumberland Fusiliers. He died whilst a Prisoner Of War in Germany on 26th July 1918, aged 26. He was the son of Robert and Allison Smith of Ivy Cottage, Norham and the husband of Mary Brisson Smith of Unthank Square, Berwick-upon-Tweed. He had been born at Shellacres Farm, Northumberland and had enlisted in Berwick-upon-Tweed. His Headstone is inscribed “Ever Remembered”.
