Private Peter Richardson

Private Peter Richardson, 11th ( Service ) Battalion, East Yorkshire Regiment. He was killed in action in Belgium on 12th April 1918, aged 19, during the German Spring Offensive on the River Lys and is commemorated on the Ploegsteert, Memorial, Belgium. He had been born at Castle Heaton farm, educated at Tillmouth School and was then employed at Shellacres farm. The photos show Allied troops in defensive positions.
