Erected by James Ingles, Shoreswood Colliery, in memory of Elizabeth his wife who died April 26th 1844 aged 26 years.

Also James their son who died at Netherton January 2nd 1862 aged 21 years.

Also the above James Ingles who died November 6th 1874 aged 59 years.

Also Thomas his son who died October 7th 1874 aged 25 years.

Also Grace his daughter who died at Sunderland October 3rd 1887 aged 36 years.

Also Margaret his wife who died at Allerdean July 27th 1890 aged 71 years.

Also Mary daughter of the above died February 13th 1919 aged 63 years.
