Sacred to the memory of JOHN SWAN who died at West Harper Ridge, 12th May 1944 aged 60 years.

Also of his wife MARY ANDERSON SWAN who died 14th Octr. aged 81 years.

Commentary

John swan was a Salmon Fisherman at Greathaugh Fishery. He was born in Cornhill. His wife Mary was born in Norham. He was known as little John. His father before him was also a salmon fisherman. His two daughters were both born at Twizell.

Mary Anderson  Henry Johns Wife was born at Cornhill

Margaretta Swan married Fred Moffat of Donaldsons Lodge  She died at Fairmile nursing home in Edinburgh.
