Commentary

Alexander Jeffrey was born on 2 March 1895 in Cornhill on-Tweed, Northumberland, his father, Nicholas, was 41 and his mother, Isabella, was 40. He married Janet Mary Robertson in 1924 in Yetholm, Roxburghshire. They had one child during their marriage. He died on 3 March 1961 in Northumberland at the age of 66, and was buried in his hometown. They married in Yetholm

Janet Mary Robertson was born on 13 May 1900 in Horndean, Berwickshire, her father, Daniel, was 30, and her mother, Hannah Purves was 37. She married Alexander Jeffrey in 1924 in Yetholm, Roxburghshire. They had one child during their marriage. She died on 12 February 1989 in Kelso, Roxburghshire, at the age of 88, and was buried in Cornhill on-Tweed, Northumberland.
