In loving memory of WILLIAM AINSLIE beloved husband of ELIZABETH AINSLIE who died at Branxton Buildings 9th May 1915 aged 74 years. Also the above ELIZABETH AINSLIE who died at Branxton Hill 7th Nov 1922 aged 64 years. Also their son JOHN AINSLIE Bombadier R. C. A. killed in action 26th June 1917 aged 29 years and is buried at Dickebusch France.

Military record

Bombardier John Ainslie, 128th Heavy Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery. His Battery used the 60 pounder gun which fired large high explosive shells and which were normally used in counter battery work and in destroying enemy strongpoints, dumps and railways behind enemy lines.
