Private Thomas Brown.

Private Thomas Brown, 9th ( Service) Battalion, Cameronians. He was killed in action in France, aged 20, on the 18th August 1918 during the “Advance to Victory”. He had been born in Galashiels and was the son of James and Isabella Brown of Kirkbrae, Galashiels. He had originally enlisted in the Kings Own Scottish Borderers but had had been posted to the Cameronians in France. He is buried in Meteren Military Cemetery, France. The photos show Allied troops advancing after the retreating German Army in the final 100 days of the War.
