Some Memories of a Scottish Photographer

Takes place 3 May 2012, 7:30pm in the Eildon Centre, Coldstream. John's great uncle, Nichol Elliot, who fell in the Great War, was an experienced and accomplished photographer and a lot of his work still exists today. He fell at the Battle of Lombardsyde near Nieuport in July 1917. He had followed his profession as a photographer to London, Vienna and Toronto. He returned to the UK in 1914 to join the Artists Rifles to then be promoted to a 2nd Lieutenant in the Northamptonshire Regiment. John Elliot is a clear and lucid speaker and his more-than-vested interest in this topic should make for a first-class listen.
