James IV Lecture – Etal Village Hall

Message from Antony Chessell, Chairman of Till Valley Archaeological Society (Tillvas).
I would be very grateful if you would pass the word around all your contacts in Coldstream about the above lecture which is taking place on Sunday, 11th October at 2.30pm in Etal Village Hall. You have probably received details already but, just to add to these, the speaker will be Max Adams on the subject “The King in the North – the life and times of Oswald of Northumbria” Tickets are £5 and can be obtained from Maureen Charlton, our Secretary, but it will be possible to buy them at the door. The speaker will be introduced by Alistair Bowden, the Flodden 1513 Project Coordinator and the vote of thanks will be given by Lord Joicey.

This lecture is the highlight of the TillVAS lecture programme and we would be really pleased if members of Coldstream and District Local History Society and other societies in Coldstream were able to come along. TillVAS was founded as a result of the excavations at Flodden Hill and we always think of the annual James IV Memorial lecture as being an important cross-Border event.
