Private David Nisbet

Private David Douglas Nisbet, 1st/7th ( Territorial ) Battalion, Black Watch. He died on Service from influenza in Morelands Red Cross Auxiliary Hospital, Peebles on the 16th February 1919 aged 32. He was born in Selkirk in 1886 and was the son of the late Catherine Nisbet and David Nisbet of 18 Yarrow Terrace, Selkirk. He was the husband of Christina Nisbet of 17 George Street, Peebles whom he had married in Selkirk in 1910. In May 1918 he had been transferred to the Royal Army Medical Corps and he is buried in Peebles Cemetery where his Headstone is inscribed ” I Am the Resurrection And The Life”.
