Private Ben Shelton Wallis, Labour Corps. He died on Service in Scotland, aged 34, on the 15th July 1919. He had been born in Leeds and was the son of William and Polly Wallis of 10 Raeburn Place, Selkirk. He had been serving at Cornton Camp near Stirling when he was struck by a train and died in Stirling Infirmary. Private Wallis has just recently been added to the Commonweatlh War Graves Registry and is commemorated in the United Kingdom Book of Remembrance.
