Sergeant James McIntosh

Sergeant /Air Gunner James Kerr Murdoch McIntosh, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. He was lost on Air Operations on 3rd April 1945 aged 19. He had been born in Coldingham to James and Elizabeth McIntosh of St Boswells and is buried in Leopoldsburgh War Cemetery, Belgium. He flew with 625 Squadron R.A.F. in the Avro Lancaster from R.A.F. Kelstern, Lincolnshire as part of No.1 Group Bomber Command. He was lost on a raid on Nordhausen, Germany when his aircraft crashed at Visbedden, Limburg, Belgium with no survivors. His Headstone is inscribed ” Remembrance In Proud Memory Of Our Dear Son And Brother Jim”.
