Private Andrew Lindores, 1st/4th ( Border ) Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He died from wounds at Gallipoli, aged 26 , on 22nd June 1915 after being wounded by shellfire whilst in the firing line. He was the son of Alexander and Janet Lindores of Corsbie, Earlston and is buried in Lancashire Landing Cemetery, Gallipoli, Turkey. He had been born in Earlston, enlisted in Galashiels and lived in St Boswells. The photo shows a Borderer in a front line trench with a home made bomb thrower.
