Private Norman McKaskie

Private Norman McKaskie, 1st Battalion, Border Regiment. He died of wounds on 12th April 1918 received in action in France during the German Spring Offensive on the River Lys aged 21. He had been born in Kirknewton and was the son of John and Jane McKaskie of Kilham, Mindrum, Cornhill-on-Tweed and is buried in La Kreule Military Cemetery, Hazebrouck, France. The photos show troops in defensive positions.
