Private Henry Wilson Hunter, 1st/4th Battalion ,Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He died on 15th December 1917 of wounds received in the fighting of 28th November in the Judean Hills, Palestine. He is commemorated on the Jerusalem Memorial. ( Gavin Richardson’s excellent Book has his place of residence as Edrom, Berwickshire and “Soldiers Died” has his place of birth as Coldingham and his place of enlistment as Duns) His twin brother David had been killed at Gallipoli on the 12th July 1915 during the ” Charge ” ( He is commemorated on the Edrom War Memorial ). The photographs show the Borderers in Palestine in late 1917.
