Flight Sergeant David Davidson

Flight Sergeant David Turnbull Davidson, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.  He was lost on operations with 547 Squadron, R.A.F. on 18th June 1944 aged 31. He was the son of John and Mary Davidson and the husband of Helen C. Davidson of Horncliffe and is commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.  547 Squadron was part of Coastal Command and was tasked with an Anti Submarine role. At the time of loss the Squadron flew  Consolidated B24 Liberators from St Eval in Cornwall to patrol the Bay of Biscay.
