Seaman William Maltman

Seaman William Maltman, Royal Naval Reserve. He died in Eyemouth, aged 29, on the 27th July 1917.  He had been born in Eyemouth and was the son of John and the late Agnes of Home Street, Eyemouth. He had been employed as a baker when he enlisted in April 1915. He went on to serve aboard the trawler H.M.T. ” Wallington” which was in service as a boom defence vessel. He fell ill with Tuberculosis and was invalided out of the Service from the R.N. Hospital in Chatham in June 1916. He died in his sister’s home in Albert Street, Eyemouth. As yet his burial place is unknown.
