Corporal John Windram, 47th ( British Columbia) Battalion, Canadian Infantry. He was killed in France in action on 16th March 1917, aged 33. He was the son of Sophie Windram and is commemorated on the Vimy Memorial, Vimy, France. Before the War he had worked as a fisherman in Eyemouth and had then emigrated in 1912 to Frasers Mills in British Columbia, Canada. He had been a noted footballer and had played for Eyemouth Rovers. His mother lived in May House, Albert Road, Eyemouth and he left a widow and one child in Canada.
