Erected by ARTHUR HARDY in loving memory of ANN TUNNAH his wife who died at Eccles Tofts 27th January 1920 aged 57 years.

Also JOHN his son who fell in action at Gallipoli 12th July 1915 aged 20 years.

Also the above ARTHUR HARDY who died in Eccles Newtown 7th November 1926 aged 64 years.

Military record

Private John Hardy, 1/4th ( Border ) Battalion Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He was killed in action in Gallipoli on 12th July 1915 during the "Charge"  at Achi Baba Nullah and is commemorated on the Helles Memorial, Helles, Gallipoli, Turkey.
