In affectionate memory of HENRY OGLE SHORT Corn miller of Etal, Warren  & Tweedmouth Flourmills who died at Warren Mill 16th November 1878 aged 49 years.

And his wife ANN BLACK who died at Waren Mill 24th August 1870 aged 45 years.

And of JOHN their eldest son who died at Waren Mill 19th June 1858  aged 3 years.

And of HENRIETTA their second daughter who died in infancy at Etal Mill February 13th 1858. GEORGINA BLACK their seventh daughter who was drowned  while bathing at Budle Bay 14th August 1878 in her fourteenth year. 

Also MARGARET PATERSON their eldest daughter who died at the Briars, Witley Surrey 29th November 1935.
 

THOMAS BLACK SHORT, Knight of St Olav their son died at Waren Mill 16th August 1941 aged 84 years.
