Erected by PETER ALLAN in memory of JAMES ALLAN BROWNLEE his grandson who died at Wark 23rd  Aug. 1876 aged 8 years. 

Also JAMES ALLAN brother of the above who died at Wark 18th June 1884 aged 63 years.

  Also SARAH SHORT wife of the above who died at Branxton Buildings 18th Decr. 1902, aged 77 years.

  Also the above PETER ALLAN who died at Branxton Buildings 18th March 1905 aged 80 years. 

Also SARAH daughter of the above PETER ALLAN who died at Coldstream 7th March 1941 aged 82 years. 

Also ELIZABETH ANN ALLAN who died at Hawick 16th March 1949 in her 87th year
