Private William Ballantyne Hall, 11th ( Service ) Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. He was killed in France on 20th October 1915 aged 22. He was the son of Robert and the late Betsy Hall of Browndeanslaw, Oxnam, Roxburghshire and is commemorated on the Loos Memorial. Dud Corner, Loos, France. He was employed as a ploughman before enlisting in November 1914 going to France in early October 1915 only three weeks before being killed.
