Bedrule
The Memorial can be found at the hamlet of Bedrule which stands south of the A698 and on the East side of the Rule Water about 4 miles West of Jedburgh. The Memorial is in the shape of a stone pillar surmounted by a thistle within the St Andrew’s Cross. A metal plaque at the base records the names of 7 men who fell in the Great War. The memorial is inscribed ” In memory of those who fell” 1914-1918. A lower plaque records one name from the Second World War. After the 1920 Dedication of the Memorial in Bedrule Kirk the congregation walked to the Memorial where Sir Robert Usher delivered the address. Lady Usher then laid a wreath.
