Kirknewton Churchyard Section E Row 3 – 3 – Scott

 Erected by William and Elizabeth SCOTT in memory of their daughter. Jane who died at Longknow. March 5th 1858 aged 25 Years.

Mary SCOTT sister of the above who died at Longknow. April 24th 1866 aged 35 years.

Elizabeth Arres SCOTT mother of the above who died at Longknow  April 13th 1869 aged 72 years.

The above named William SCOTT died al Crammond Hill 14th Oct.1885 aged 89 years.

William SCOTT his grandson died at Crammond Hill 24th Jan 1888 aged 32 Years.

 In loving memory of Mary Barbara RUTHERFORD the beloved wife of Robert SHELL who died Dec 16th 1913 aged 62 years

. Also the above named Robert SHELL who died July 16th 1915 aged  67 years.

Also their daughter Elizabeth M. J. SHELL who died Sept 9th. 1966 aged 76 years.

Erected by John DUNCAN in memory of Elizabeth his wife who died at Hetton  1st March 1863 aged38 years.

Also William their son died 13th Feb. 1863 aged 2 months.

The above named  John DUNCAN who died at Hetton Law 28th June l 920 aged 92 years.

Also Jane Scott DUNCAN their daughter who died  15th April  1938 aged 78 years.

 ln  loving  memory  of Grace Wilhelmma  beloved wife of George SHORT who died 21st March   1915 aged  49 years.

And of Luke their third son who was accidentally killed at Low Morley 28th March 1925 aged 29 vears.

Also the above named George SHORT who died 8th Feb 19-13 aged 78 years.

Also their only daughter Minnie dearly beloved wife of Thomas CROSBY cited at Widdrington on 6th Feb 1985 aged 78 years.  

Will never he forgotten.

In  loving  memory of Ann  BAIRD  beloved  wife of John  POTTS who died at Kilham. Jan 1st 1916 aged 73 years.

Also of John W. POTTS their youngest son who died at The Roval Victoria Infirmary Newcastle. March 17th 1917 aged 35 years.

The above named John POTTS who died at Warks Common. Dec 16th 1929 aged 83 years.

Here  lies  the  body  of  Richard  HENDERSON  late blacksmith  in  Howtil who  died  March  10th  1783 aged 42 years. 

Also  Ann  HENDERSON  his  wife  who  died  Sept  11th  1791 aged  48 vears.

  Also  2  of their children.

Erected  by  James  LAIDLAW.shepherd  in  Kirknewton in memory of  William  LAIDLAW  his son who died May 3rd 1802 aged  16 weeks.

Also of Annie their beloved daughter who died at The Royal Victoria Infirmary. Newcastle. June 19th 1916 aged  40 years.

And  of Mary  their youngest  daughter  who  died at Lanton  Mill.  Jan I0th  1886 aged  7 months and  of  Helen  their  daughter  who  died  at  Wooler.  April  9th  1916 aged 44 Years.

The  above  named Peter AINSLIE who died at Wooler. March  30th  1918 aged 74 years.

Catherine  Penelope  CORBETT  his  wife  died at  Yetholm,  June  17th  1955 aged  81 years.
