Second Lieutenant Bernard Vernon Gordon

Second Lieutenant Bernard Vernon Gordon, Royal Flying Corps. He died at Home on the 14th December 1916 aged 18. He was the son of K.G. Gordon of Seven Oaks, Kent and the late Thomas Gordon. He is buried in Ancroft ( St Anne ) Churchyard, Ancroft, Northumberland. He died after a flying accident in a B.E. 2E whilst with 63 Squadron During the War many more airmen were lost in accidents than in combat.
