PROJECTS: PRESERVING OUR RICH HERITAGE

PROJECTS: PRESERVING OUR RICH HERITAGE

The Society hopes its members and friends are having a good 2018. And of course we are heading towards the end of the year. In the past months there has been a lot to enjoy – talks, field trips, ongoing projects and further Great War commemorations. Recently, the transcriptions of Ford kirk yard headstones have been completed and the team has started on Kirknewton and Norham, north Northumberland. More details on war memorials and the fallen in the World Wars have been, and will continue to be, added. Details of our talks, and those of our kindred body, Tillvas, have been included as extra events. A few more items have been installed in ‘Historic Documents’ and the ‘Gallery’ section has been added with photographs. This year’s subscriptions were £6, paid to Joan Turnbull, our Treasurer. New members are very welcome and we have recently acquired quite a few more. Have a very good end to 2019, learning about our local history, and look forward to 2020, where we are hoping to develop a new website.

In looking forward to late 2020, please refer to the events planned. They should be very enjoyable. Events for 2020 will be published soon.
