Private James Struthers Ker, 6th Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He died in France on 31st March 1917, aged 20. He was the son of Peter and Helen Ker of Warriors Rest, Yarrow, Selkirkshire and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial, Arras, France.At the time the Battalion were in training for the Battle of Arras which opened on 9th April.
